Duolingo has won hearts with its bite-sized lessons and gamified way of teaching a new language.
It motivates users by rewarding them with XPs, Gems, and more. Duolingo is a free language learning app but if you need an ad-free experience, you need to subscribe.
For the unversed, Duolingo has multiple subscription plans — Super Duolingo, Duolingo Plus, Family Plan, and more.
But have you heard about a new Duolingo Subscription plan? Yes, there is a new subscription called Duolingo Gold.
Unlike other subscriptions, Duolingo Gold can’t be purchased by all users.
Since it is only available to limited users, a lot of users wonder what Duolingo Gold is all bout, how to purchase it, and what are its features.

What Is Duolingo Gold?

Duolingo Gold made its appearance on French courses a few months ago but it is yet to be officially launched.
There is no denying that Duolingo Gold is a kind of subscription but it is being kept under wrap by Duolingo for unknown reasons.
According to reports, the upcoming plan will have a private tutor teaching Duolingo learners.
Users will have an opportunity for one-on-one tuition from a live certified tutor. As per the promo, learners will be able to ask questions to their tutor at any time.
Eg: If you are having trouble understanding a concept on Duolingo, you will have your tutor to help you out.
It is quite possible that you can share your query and the tutor will get back to you when they have time.
The reason we think so is because Duolingo is used all over the world and as each country has a different time zone it is possible that the learner and the tutor too come from different time zones.
So the best way to get an answer is to share your problem and get an answer when the tutor is online.
The best part about this Duolingo subscription is that the tutors can also follow the progress of their students and advise them on how to better their learning experience.
There is a possibility that they will be sending voice notes and videos for a more personalized learning experience.
Duolingo Gold Subscription vs Duolingo Plus

There is no denying that Duolingo Plus offers unlimited hearts and an ad-free experience but it does not give you Certified tutors, Pronunciation help, and Custom guidance.
On the other hand, Duolingo Gold has all the features that we have mentioned above.
They will not only correct your pronunciation but also guide you in gaining spoken fluency.
How To Get Duolingo Gold
Currently, there is no option to get a Duolingo Gold subscription.
According to reports, only a few people have been granted access to Duolingo Gold so far.
While using the Duolingo app, if you find a Gold icon in your language lessons, tap on it to subscribe.

When you tap on it, you will soon receive a notification that Gold isn’t currently available.
One can join the waiting list and will be informed when the subscription goes live.
How Much Does Duolingo Gold Cost?
Duolingo Gold is likely to cost £29.99 a month in the UK (that’s roughly $40 in the US). But some have added that it costs a yearly subscription of $149.99 in the US and €149.99 in the EU.
Duolingo has as yet not set the price for Duolingo Gold. So wait for the subscription to launch to know the real price of Duolingo Gold.
Currently, Duolingo Gold is only spotted on French courses. There is no confirmation of which other languages will be available for Duolingo Gold.
It may be first available on IOS devices and later on other devices.
When Will Duolingo Gold Launch?
There is no official information regarding the launch of Duolingo Gold. Duolingo could be checking out the last-minute details so that the launch will be without any glitches.
They could also be setting up certified tutors to give learners the best learning experience.
But if and when Duolingo Gold launches it will once again help Duolingo retain its title of the best language learning app.
However, we should step forward with caution as there is no confirmation if Duolingo will launch the subscription or if they are just testing to see if there is an interest among users for the subscription.
If the interest is high it will launch if not then there will be no Gold Subscription.
Duolingo Gold is something that I would go for. But will wait to check its price and features first.
Till then why don’t we check out apps like italki, Hellotalk, and more these apps are based on the same principle of 1-on-1 lessons with certified tutors.
