Duolingo is a language learning app that has gained humongous popularity since its launch.
The free, fun, and effective way to learn a new language app has a Green Owl named Duo as its mascot.
The mascot has undergone many transformations since its selection.
However, currently, many users are left shocked to see its new transformation.
Many users were left worried that they may have ‘broken’ the app as the logo appears mysteriously cracked and broken.
Taking to its official Twitter (X) handle, Duolingo wrote a tweet, “Somebody fix me.”
This tweet soon went viral with many taking to social media to joke about the logo’s changed appearance.
Many users took to X (Twitter) and joked that they may have broken or cracked the bird.
Another user wrote on X, “Why is my Duolingo bird broken.”
“Honey please we have to learn another language, they’re torturing the Duolingo bird,” tweeted another.
Another shared that he just punched the Duolingo bird in the face and shattered it into a dozen pieces.
Why Is Duolingo Icon Cracked?
Looks like the Duolingo owl has got a makeover once again. Seems like the company does it to attract the attention of users and as humans are curious by nature they will open the app to check the reason behind the change.
The change could also be due to some layout changes, logo updates, or even some testing on the app.
Duolingo has as yet not revealed the reason behind the cracked or broken app icon. As soon as the reason is revealed, we will update this post.

How To Fix Duolingo Broken/Cracked Icon?

On Android
- First, open the Duolingo app.
- Tap on the Flame or Streak icon.
- After that, scroll down until you see Streak Society.
- There, you will see an option ‘New App Icon‘.
- Now, tap on the Turn On option.
- When you do so, yet another window will appear.
- There, you need to tap on the ‘Restart App’.
- When you do so, the Duolingo app will be restarted.
- After a while, your Duolingo icon will be changed.
- That’s it.
On iOS
To change Duolingo cracked app icon to its original one, follow the steps written below:
- First, open the App Store.
- After that, search for Shortcut and download it.
- Once installed, launch it.
- Now, tap on the + icon.
Duolingo often rolls out a special limited-time icon. However, the updated icon will soon be replaced by the original icon after a few days.
