What is a Duolingo incubator?

The Duolingo incubator was founded in 2013 as a platform where volunteers worldwide were actively participating in developing new language courses for Duolingo.

The people with multilingual fluency were participating as contributors.

The incubator platform was based on 3 phases of development;

Phase 1:

The courses in the early stages of development were placed in Phase 1. These courses were only available for testers.

Phase 2:

The phase 2 courses were beta courses, which means that these courses were available for testing with chances of bugs and fixes.

Phase 3:

The courses that have passed the beta stage and were released to the public were placed in Phase 3.

However, due to some technical reasons, Duolingo stopped the Incubator in 2021.

Why Did Duolingo Stop the Incubator?
