When you are learning a language on Duolingo and have just completed a lesson.
The Duolingo owl will ask if you wish the next lesson to be more difficult than the one completed.
Accept the challenge and you will get a tougher lesson than the previous one.
Translate Without Looking
Another method to make the lesson slightly tougher on Duolingo is by reading the sentence and covering the translation.
When you translate a word, Duolingo will share translation hints.
You must avoid looking at the tips as though they are helpful to a new learner a seasoned learner must consider it as a challenge.
Translating a word without the help of a hint or a tip helps retain the word in memory.

Use Desktop Version
On the Desktop version of Duolingo, one must try to type the answers and try not to auto-fill them.
