Migaku Sentence Mining Setup Guide

To use and set up Migaku for Sentence Mining, follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Install Migaku Add-On

First, you need to download and install the Migaku add-on on your web browser. For that use the following steps:

Open the Chrome Browser and go to https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1846879528.
After visiting this website, scroll down and copy the code which is: 1846879528

Now, open the Anki Software and select Tools > Add-ons.

This will open a window where select “Get Add-ons…”.

In a new window, paste the code that you just copied and click OK.
This will start installing the Migaku Add-on on the Anki Software.
Wait for the installation and restart the Anki.

Step 2: Set Up Migaku On Web Browser

Once you successfully downloaded the Migaku Add-on Anki, the next thing you need to do is install and set up the Migaku on your web browser for Sentence Mining.

Open Chrome Browser and go to Chrome Web Store.
Now, search for the Immerse With Migaku extension and click Add to Chrome.

After that, click on Add Extension and wait for the installation to be completed.

Step 5: Start Sentence Mining and Creating Flash Cards

Once everything is set up, you can start Sentence Mining and creating the FlashCards for Anki.

Before you start Sentence Mining, you need to customize the different things on Migaku Dictionary and let the extension know which type of cards to create.

Here is what you need to customize:

First, click on the Migaku Extension Icon on your web browser.
Then select the Migaku Dictionary option.

After that make sure the Anki Software is running in the background.
Once the Anki is running it will connect with the Migaku Extension.
On the Migaku Dictionary window, click on the Flashcard icon at the top.
This will open the Note Type which you need to customize.
There are some default note types as well that you can use to create Flashcards for Anki.
If you want to make a custom note type then click on the Note Type option and select “Migaku Japanese Custom Styling”.

Before that, make sure the Dictionary has the correct language selected.

Once you have set up the flashcard settings, you can start Sentence Mining.

The process for Sentence Mining for YouTube and Netflix is the same.

For example, if you want to do Sentence Mining on YouTube, you need to make changes in the Migaku Toolbar.

To open the toolbar, click on the Migaku Icon located anywhere on your screen. Click on it and it will open some settings options.

Here, the first thing you need to do is select the Target and Native languages from the language sections.

You can leave the native language disabled if you don’t want to add English as the native subtitle to your card.

After choosing the Target Language, go and select the Subtitle Type from the Parsing Options.

You can also select different Export Options from the Migaku Toolbar.

After selecting everything according to the way you want, click the “Parse” button and then the “Browser” button to bring up the subtitles next to the video so that you can read them while watching the video.

Now, you can start Sentence Mining from that video. Before that, you need to click on the Migaku Icon from the extension bar and select “Enable Recording”.
